Mountain Lake Doctor Called Away in Death
Mountain Lake, Minn. — Dr. Harvey R. Basinger, 74, practicing physician here for the past 40 years, died unexpectedly Dec. 28 while seated in the small dining room of his hotel, the Hotel Basinger.
His death followed by less than three months that of his long-time associate, Dr. Elmer S. Schutz, 64, who died Oct. 9 of a heart attack while preparing to assist at an operation.
Both doctors were natives of Pandora, Ohio. While studying in Chicago Dr. Basinger was an instructor at the University of Chicago and taught surgery at Rush Medical College, of which he was also a graduate. He was a member of a number of professional organizations, and after coming here founded the Basinger Clinic.
The clinic is now carried on by Dr. Dallas Glick and Dr. Dwight Jaeger.
