&bull; Funeral services for Paul W. Bartsch, 76, of Topeka were held Monday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church here, with Rev. Arnold Epp officiating. Mr. Bartsch died Dec. 1 in Topeka, where he was employed in the Kansas State Insurance Department before his retirement. Born in Russian Turkestan, in central Asia, Mr. Bartsch came to this country in 1893. He attended the Newton schools, Bethel College and Emporia Teachers College. He was formerly a teacher, and for some years was associated with the Midland Mutual Fire Insurance Co., formerly the Mennonite Mutual Insurance Co., first as secretary and later as president. He was active in community affairs and in Western District and General Conference work. Survivors include his second wife, the former Esther Toevs; sons John of Hutchinson and Paul of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter Barbara Jean of the home; and 11 grandchildren.
