text of obituary:
LINDA PENNER BARTEL, daughter of Henry T. and Mathilda Penner, was born near Hillsboro, Kansas, December 11, 1902, and died, together with her new-born baby daughter, on December 4, 1941. She was a faithful and active member of the Johannestal Church.
She united in marriage with Henry H. Bartel in the year 1927. Her husband and three small sons, twelve, nine and five years of age, mourn deeply their severe loss. She is also survived by her father, H. T. Penner, three brothers living near Hillsboro, Erwin, Herman, and Milton, and three sisters, Mrs. H. W. Bartel and Mrs. Walter Schmidt of Hillsboro, and Mrs. John F. Schmidt of Marietta, Ohio. She had a large circle of near relatives and many friends who mourn the loss of one whom they loved.
The double funeral was conducted in the Johannestal Church, which was filled to overflowing. Words of comfort were spoken by her pastor, J. M. Regier, assisted by Rev. A. E. Funk.
