Mahlon George Bare

Mahlon George Bare was born March 27, 1873 in Marion County, Kan. He passed away March 10, 1965 in the Moots Hospital at Pryor, Okla., aged 91 years, 11 months and 11 days. His wife, the late Anna Holdeman Bare, predeceased him in Jan. 7, 1961.

He is survived by six sons and two daughters. Three sons and one daughter died in infancy. Those surviving are: Saloma, Mrs. Clarence Graber of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Richard and John, both of Mt. Pleasant; Melvin of Kalona, Iowa; Benjamine [sic], with the U. S. Armed forces in Germany; Kathryn, Mrs. Frank Heyda of Canoga Park, Calif.; Tillman of Pryor, Okla.; and Harry of Newton, Kan. One brother, Joe Bare of Harper, Kan., and three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Weaver of Oronogo, Mo., Kate Underwood of Modesto, Calif., and Martha Hostetler of Albany, Ore., also survive, together with 22 grandchildren, many relatives and friends.

Mr. Bare was a farmer all his life. He spent his early years in Kansas, moving to Oklahoma from Windom, Kan. with his family in 1932. They became members of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church of Adair, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Bare remained faithful to their church and committed to Christ until their deaths.
