MRS. ANNA BARE

Anna Holdeman Bare was born Feb. 9, 1883 in McPherson County, Kansas. She entered her eternal reward on Jan. 7, 1961 in the Moots Hospital and Clinic in Pryor, Okla., aged 77 years, 10 months and 29 days. She was the daughter of John A. and Anna (Kilmer) Holdeman.

On Christmas day she was admitted to the hospital suffering from pneumonia. She was well on her way to recovery when she suffered a blood clot on her brain on Jan. 5. Despite all medical aid she quietly slipped away to be with her Lord the evening of Jan. 7.

She grew to young womanhood in Chase County, Kansas. On Feb. 16, 1910 she was united in holy matrimony to Mahlon George Bare, with whom she celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary last year. To this union were born nine sons and three daughters. Three sons and one daughter predeceased her as infants.

A sister, Mrs. Jonas Ratzloff of Canton, Kansas; a brother David Holdeman of Washington state; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Rueben Holdeman of Cedarpoint, Kansas; her husband, eight children, 21 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends mourn her departure. The children and families are as follows: Richard, and wife Pauline and children of New Carlisle, Ohio; Melvin, and wife Leona and children of Kalona, Iowa; John and wife June and children of Fairfield, Iowa; Ben and wife Theresa and step- daughter of Wurzburg, Germany; Tillman and wife Edna and children of Pryor, Okla.; Harry Titus, at home; Saloma and husband Clarence Graber and children of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Kathryn and husband Frank Heyda and children of Granada Hills, Calif.

Mr. Bare, who has been retired for a number of years, was a farmer all his life. They lived in Kansas until 1932 when they moved to Adair, Okla. From about 1934 to 1939 they lived in the vicinity of Mt. Pleasant and Wayland, Iowa. Then then moved back to Adair where they have resided until the passing of Mrs. Bare.

Sister Bare accepted Christ in her girlhood and united with the Mennonite Church. She remained faithful to this commitment until her death. She loved the church and its doctrines. She coveted for each of her children a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus, who was her personal Savior.

The services were held at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church near Adair, Okla., with Rev. Richard Birky officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Joe G. Hartzler of Windom, Kansas, a cousin and lifelong friend of the family. Interment was made at the Zion Cemetery near Pryor.

While we mourn and are sorrowful because of our mother's passing, nevertheless we rejoice in the victory of her death. — The Family.
