FRANK H. BANMAN

Frank H. Banman of Goessel, Kan., son of the Rev. Heinrich and Helena Buller Banman, was born in Marion County, Kan. on May 24, 1878. He received his elementary education in the Hochfeld school.

He was baptized upon his confession of faith in Jesus Christ on May 29, 1898 and received into the membership of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite congregation. Rev. Peter Balzer officiated.

On Nov. 20, 1902 he entered holy wedlock with Anna Quiring, Rev. C. C. Wedel officiating. They took up farming as a means of earning a livelihood and continued with it till they moved to town in 1960. These marriage ties were severed when Mrs. Banman died March 10, 1960. One son, Erwin, had preceded her in death.

Mr. Banman was a quiet, conscientious father. He was faithful and loyal to the church and regular in his family worship. His health had not been the best for the last two years. His sight and physical strength failed him. In December of 1962 he became a resident in the Bethesda Home.

On March 12, 1963, he was taken to the doctor's office for a medical checkup and suffered a heart attack which proved to be fatal. He was 84 years old.

Those remaining to cherish the memory of his life are his son Arthur and wife Frieda, Congo, Africa; Rachel and husband Karl Reimer, Hillsboro, Kan.; Arpa and husband Menno S. Goertzen, Rt. 2, Newton, Kan.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one step grandchild, three step great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. John H. Banman, Covina, Calif.; one brother-in-law, C. R. Voth, Newton, plus a host of relatives and friends.
