• Funeral services were held Thursday morning, Aug. 29, at the Alexanderwohl Church near Goessel for Mrs. F. W. (Mary) Banman, 88. Rev. Ronald Krehbiel, the pastor, and Rev. Leonard Wiebe of Newton officiated. Mrs. Banman, the former Mary Flaming, died Aug. 25 at the Memorial Home in Moundridge where she had resided since October 1974. She and her husband, Frank W. Banman, farmed in the Goessel community until moving to Newton in 1945. He died in 1965. Mrs. Banman was a member of the Faith Mennonite Church, Newton. She leaves three sons, Ewald of Wichita, Arnold of Liberty, Mo., and Marvin of rural Hillsboro; six daughters, Mrs. Albert W. Schmidt of Halstead, Mrs. Rudy Voth of Route 2, Newton, Mrs. Nico Salvatierra of Hutchinson, Mrs. Gerhard Peters of Pawnee Rock, Miss Hulda Banman of Newton, and Mrs. Francis Holland of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Katie Enns Gaeddert of Buhler; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
