On Nov. 5, 1889, at McPherson, Kan. she was united in marriage to Henry Baker, who preceded her in death June 18, 1956. They were permitted to share the blessing of married life for more than 56 years. This union was blessed with seven children, three sons and four daughters: Ora, Ralph, and Chester; Clara, Mrs. Crist Beyler, and Stella, Mrs. Jake Zimmerman, all of Protection; Florence, Mrs. Marvin King of Harper; and Ferne, Mrs. Virgil Schultz of Wichita.
In the spring of 1900 they moved to Jet, Okla. Five years later they moved to Millersburg, Ohio to care for Mrs. Baker's parents, Eli D. Millers. In 1909 they moved to a farm south of Protection where they lived for 35 years. In the spring of 1944 they moved to their present home in Protection where they resided at the time of death.
Mother Baker was always interested in her church, family, and community. Her faithful attendance in church services and interest in the work of the Lord were a source of inspiration to many. She is survived by seven children, 30 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, two grandsons and two pairs of twin granddaughters preceded her in death.
