DAVID BAERGEN
David Baergen was born on Dec. 12, 1903, at Buhler, Kan., and died March 20, 1975, reaching the age of 71.
At the age of one he moved with his parents, Jacob G. and Lizzie Baergen, to a farm one mile north of Corn, Okla. Six years later he moved again with his parent to a farm they had purchased, located one mile west, three and three-fourths miles north of Corn.
He attended Springfield country school for his elementary education. he attended one year at the Corn Bible Academy and the next year at Oklahoma Bible Academy, Meno.
He was baptized by rev. John Flaming at the age of 17 and received into the Bergthal Mennonite Church.
He was married to Marie Goossen on Feb. 28, 1932 and they moved to a farm at Lookeba, Okla. A few years later they moved to a farm at Custer City, Okla. In 1937 they purchased a farm several miles south of Custer City, which he retained during the remaining years of his life.
A daughter, Inabelle Lois, was born to them on march 5, 1935.
His wife, Marie, died on Dec. 9, 1969. His parents and two sisters also preceded him in death.
During recent years he evidenced a deepening inter3st in spiritual things, mentioning from time to time the probability of the Lord's soon return.
Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Wayne Clemens, of Oklahoma City, two grandsons, two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Jacob Toews) of Buhler, Kan. and Katherine (Mrs. Harry Huebert) of McAllen, Tex.; three brothers, John of Chouteau, Okla., Ernest E. of Newton, Kan. and J. R. of Midwest City, Okla. — The Family.
