MRS. HELEN BAERG

(Mrs.) Helen Baerg, the daughter of Cornelius and Anne Duerksen, was born in south Russia on January 22, 1894. She passed away peacefully on May 5 in Ros them, Saskatchewan.

Mrs. Baerg made her personal commit ment to Christ at the age of 15 years and affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren church after baptism that same year. She experienced the difficult years of the Russian Revolution. In 1925 she emigrated to Canada with her family and worked for 10 years in Manitoba. In 1935 she married widower John J. Baerg of Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. After 14 years of farming, they retired in Dalmeny. Her husband passed away in 1963 and she lived in her own home for several more years. The last six years were spent in residence at the Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern where she appreciated the care she received. She was also predeceased by one daughter Susie (Mrs. Jake) Loewen and four great grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn her children and their spouses: Marie Baerg, Henry and Sara Baerg, Sam and Irene Baerg, John Baerg, Lawrence and Frieda Baerg, and Anne (Mrs. John) Lepp, all of Saskatchewan; Sophie (Mrs. John) Dueck, Dora (Mrs. Henry) Goosen and son-in-law Jake Loewen, all of B.C.; and Menno and Bertha Baerg of Seattle, Washington; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
