MARTHA E. AUERNHEIMER

Mrs. Martha (Ewert) Auernheimer, daughter of Frank and Agnes Ewert, was born on Nov. 29, 1880 near Halstead, Kan. She died on Oct. 13, 1969, at Sierra View Homes in Reedley, Calif. at the age of 88 years and 11 months.

On Dec. 1, 1895 she joined the Garden Township Mennonite Church near Moundridge, Kan. being baptized by Rev. S. S. Baumgartner.

She was married to William Auernheimer on Nov. 28, 1901 in the Garden Township Church. To this union were born five children of whom two, Jacob and Milton, preceded her in death.

The family came to Reedley in 1926. Here she joined the First Mennonite Church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death.

Mother was very active in church affairs, especially the Women's Missionary Society. She attended church and Sunday school faithfully until her health failed.

Father passed away on Sept. 9, 1960. Surviving her are one daughter, Vida Weinbrenner of Fresno, Calif.; two sons, Ora of Reedley, Calif. and Leroy of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ferd Ewert of McPherson, Kan.; one sister, Laura Reimer of San Pedro, Calif.; and many relatives and friends.
