• Funeral services for John G. Andres, 83, were held April 1 at the Zion Mennonite Church, Elbing, with Rev. D. C. Wedel officiating. Mr. Andres died Mar. 29 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. A long-time resident of the Elbing community, he had been living at MidTown Towers in Newton. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Wedel of Burns; three sons, Ronald of rural Newton, Edwin and Irvin, both of Elbing; one sister, Mrs. Agatha Klassen, and one brother, Peter C. Andres, both of Elbing; and 12 grandchildren.
