JACOB J. ANDRES

Jacob J. Andres of St. Catharines, Ont. died April 10 at Tabor Manor. He was born February 27, 1881 to Jacob W. Andres and Elizabeth (Petkau) in the village of Sergievka in southern Russia. In 1902 the family emigrated to Canada and settled near Rosthern, Sask. Jacob accepted Christ in 1908 and was baptized by Rev. Jacob Lepp of Dalmeny, Sask. He was then accepted into the Neuhoffnung church. On November 19, 1916 he married Annie, the daughter of Johann J. Doerksen's of Hepburn, Sask . In 1926 they moved- to a farm near Hepburn after 10 years of farming near Langham, Sask . They served in Sunday school and in youth activities; in 1933 they were elected deacons and were ordained in 1935. After living in the Virgil and St. Catharines area since 1941 Mr. and Mrs. Andres moved to Tabor Manor in 1973. Jacob Andres leaves behind his wife Annie and their four children: Jake and Helen Andres, Nick and Esther Dyck, John and Elsie Wiebe and John Andres. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters and is survived by three brothers and five sisters, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grand- children.
