ANNA  M. ANDRES

Anna M. Andres was born near Elbing, Kan. on June 24, 1890. She died on June 9, 1973.

She was baptized on May 19, 1907 by Rev. C. H. Regier and received into the Zion Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member all of her life. Her baptismal verse was: "Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life" (Rev. 2:10).

As the oldest in the family she took on much responsibility in caring for her parents and also the other members of the family, She was always ready and willing to help take care of her nephews and nieces as they were added to the family circle.

In her younger years she worked for a number of years in the Bethel Hospital kitchen, and also did some floor work.

In the late 1920's it was her privilege to spend some years at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. She always had a great interest in missions and in the work of the church.

In the early years of Berean Academy she made room in her humble home for a number of the women teachers. Also many times she would take care of the small children of Berean's teachers. Later she also took some older women into her home and gave them loving care.

Children were always a delight for her and she enjoyed to have them come to visit her until her old age. She also had a great love for flowers and spent much time in raising them.

In March of 1966 she entered the Memorial Home in Moundridge where she spent the last seven years of her life and was faithfully and lovingly cared for. —The Family.
