Two Killed, Three Injured in Headon Crash Near Freeman

Freeman, S. D. — The headon crash of two autos north of Dolton on Highway 81 the evening of Feb. 8 claimed the lives of Henry Boldt, 72, of Marion and 14-year-old Mark Anderson of Canistota.

Brought to the Freeman hospital with critical injuries were Mrs. Boldt, 70, Wendell Anderson, father of the dead youth, and his son, Monte. Mrs. Boldt, the former Mary P. Gross, suffered fractures of both legs.

At the time of the crash Mr. Anderson and two sons were returning home after visiting Mrs. Anderson and day-old baby son in the hospital here. Funeral services for the Anderson youth were held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota, and services for Mr. Boldt were held Feb. 11 at the Church of God in Marion.
