Former Bethel Student Killed in Accident

Mt. Lake, Minn. — Family members and friends from Mt. Lake attended funeral services at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Benson, Minn. on Sept. 18 for Mrs. Ernest Anderson, 32, who was killed in a car-truck collision near here on Sept. 15.

Mrs. Anderson was the former Arvalda Nickel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore W. Nickel of Mt. Lake. She attended Bethel College (Kansas) and accompanied the Bethel choir on a summer tour of Europe during her student days there. Later she graduated from Mankato State College, and was employed as a home extension agent at Benson.

Mrs. Anderson was on the way to church when her car collided with a pickup truck. She died at the scene, and the truck driver died several hours later.

She married Ernest Anderson in 1967, and they were engaged in farming. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two small sons, three and one years of age, and three brothers, Verlyn, Roger, and Loren.
