PAUL N. AMSTUTZ

Paul N. Amstutz of Orrville, Ohio was born on June 5, 1902 to Peter J. and Barbara (Schneck) Amstutz, and passed away on Sept. 21, 1971 at age 69 after an extended illness.

During his life he was actively engaged in the work of the church, serving in many varied capacities in the Kidron congregation. He served willingly and responsibly, striving for spiritual growth of each individual as well as corporate unity. He helped in securing the location of a church campgrounds in Ohio (Camp Luz), serving as a charter member of the Board of Trustees. He enjoyed music and art. he appreciated the value of education and was a member of the Dalton Local Board of Education for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Esther (Bixler); three sons, Ivan and wife Ruth of Kidron, Ohio, Clifford and wife Lois of Hesston, Kan., Mahon and wife July of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Lillian of Elkhart, Ind. and Adeline and husband David D. Yoder of Orrville, Ohio. Also surviving are one foster daughter, Mary (Mrs. Leonard Wollard), 12 grandchildren, seven foster grandchildren and one foster great-grandchild; two brothers, Ira of Apple Creek, Ohio and H. Clair, medical missionary in Ethiopia; and four sisters, Mrs. Fairy Gerber, Mrs. Persis Nussbaum, Frieda (Mrs. George Amstutz) and Verda (Mrs. Ivan Zuercher). Two sisters, Celia and Nettie, preceded him in death.

The funeral service was one of worship and praise to God in memory of a life well lived. The family suggests that gifts may be sent to the Paul N. Amstutz Memorial Fund for Camp Luz, Route 2, Orrville, Ohio.
