Amstutz.— On Feb. 14, at his old homestead four miles northwest of Bluffton, Ohio, where he lived over 80 years, of the infirmities of old age, John U. Amstutz, aged 86 years 10 months and 6 days. Father Amstutz was born in Blumberg, France, and came to America with his parents when he was two years of age. At the age of 18 years he united with the Mennonite church and at the time of his death was the oldest member of the congregation. He was well preserved and was regular at the service until about six weeks before his death. One son and two daughters survive him. His funeral was one of the largest at the Ebenezer Mennonite church for a long time. Over eight hundred persons viewed the remains. W. S. Gottshall, assisted by W. S. Shelly, conducted the funeral services.
