Well-Known Bluffton Area Farmer Dies

Bluffton, Ohio. — William E. Althaus, 65, well known farmer of rural Columbus Grove and a life-long resident of this area, died at the Bluffton Community Hospital on May 11 after a week's illness.

Mr. Althaus was a former director of the Mid-West Electric Company of St. Mares, Ohio. He was a charter member of Farm Bureau Council No. 1, a member of the Mennonite Brotherhood Aid Society and of the Swiss Historical Society, serving on the committee to plan the coming Swiss Day observance here.

He had served as treasurer and trustee of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church near Bluffton, where the funeral services were conducted May 14.
