Mrs. Bertha M. Allenbach, pioneer of Whitman County, Washington, since 1890, died November 16, 1946. Mrs. Allenbach was a native of Switzerland. She was born in 1866. In 1884 she married Louis Allenbach. Three years later they came to the United States, where they settled in Kansas. In 1890 they came to Whitman County. Here they became members of the Onecho Church. Mr. Allenbach passed away in 1907. Surviving are two sons, August and Lewis of Colfax and seven daugthers[sic], Mrs. Wm. Gordon, Mrs. Cecil Johnson and Mrs. Elliott Gay of Colfax; Mrs. Martin Conniff of Spokane, Mrs. Harry Bryson of Pendleton, Mrs. Rex Allingham and Mrs. Clara Christensen of Portland; two brothers, Alfred and Lee Maurer in Ohio, and a sister Emma Weis in Switzerland.
