Edwin Albrecht was born Sept. 24, 1899 in Ontario, Canada, and died in Sarasota, Fla. on Feb 27, 1982. Living in the U. S. since the age of four, his early years were spent in Huron County, Mich., where he was married in 1923 to Anna Maust, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth of Sarasota, Fla., Willis of New Haven, Ind. and Cecil of Woodburn, Ind.; three daughters, Bertha (Mrs. Irwin) Plank of Grabill, Ind., Marilyn (Mrs. Sam) Delagrange of Woodburn, Ind. and Joyce Albrecht of Fort Washington, Md.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Emanuel of Goshen, Ind.; and two sisters, Rachel Gunden of Bay Port, Mich., and Clara Garretson of Tampico, Ill.
He was ordained to the ministry in 1926 at the Pigeon River Conservative Mennonite Church. He also served at the South Flint Mennonite Church for eight years, at Riverside Mennonite Church in Turner, Mich., and at the Cuba Mennonite Church in Grabill, Ind. for 16 years before retiring.
Funeral services were held at the Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Fla. on Mar. 2, with Stanlee Kauffman in charge.
