Helicopter Pilot From Archbold Dies in War

Archbold, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Mennonite Church here on Jan. 25 for David Keith Aeschliman, 20, Chief Warrant Officer in the U. S. Air Force who was fatally injured in Vietnam. Rev. Charles L. Zimmerman, the pastor, and Rev. S. Glen Cameron of the West Franklin Church of Christ officiated.

The young man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur S. Aeschliman of Route 1, West Unity, was piloting a helicopter when it was fired upon by hostile ground forces, crashed and burned. He died four days later in a hospital in Vietnam.

The youth was the first resident of this community to lose his life in the Vietnam war.

Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers and one sister.
