Mary Elizabeth (Conrad) Aeschliman, daughter of John and Mary Conrad, was born at Pulaski, Ia., June 5, 1885. She attended school in her home community and also college in preparation for teaching. She later taught school in Iowa and also in the state of Washington. In her early youth she was baptized upon her confession of faith in Christ and received into the membership of the Mennonite church. She was united in marriage to William Aeschliman of Colfax, Washington on Sep. 2, 1922. They resided on a farm near Onecho until two years ago when they moved into Colfax. She always took an active part in both Church and Sunday School work. She passed away at her home on Dec. 22 after a short illness at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 17 days. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Betty Jean age 11 years, one sister, Mrs. Edw. Reinhardt of Colfax, and two brother’s, Arthur and Edward J. Conrad in the state of Iowa.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church of Colfix,[sic] Washington on Dec. 24, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. Harley King, using Phil 1:21 and John 11:25-26 as a basis, and were attended by a large congregation of relatives and sympathetic friends. Interment at the Colfax, Wash. cemetery.
