Lancaster County Youth Killed When Thrown From Auto

Ephrata, Pa. — Severe head injuries suffered in a traffic accident the evening of Dec. 26 proved fatal to Noah B. Shirk, 15, of rural New Holland, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, in the hospital here.

Funeral services were held Dec. 30 in the Weaverland Mennonite Church.

The youth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy S. Shirk, was riding in a car driven by John S. Zimmerman, 18, of rural new Holland when it went out of control on a slight curve near Terre hill. The car reportedly rolled over several times and came to rest on its top. Young Shirk was thrown out onto a nearby lawn. Zimmerman escaped with head cuts.
