Great-Grandmother Dies At Kalona, Iowa Home

Wellman, Iowa. — Mrs. Barbara E. Miller, 88, a resident of this community most of her life and formerly connected with church publication work, died May 8 at the Pleasantview Home, Kalona.

For 20 years Mrs. Miller and her husband, the late John J. Miller, served as editors of the Junior Department of the ”Herold der Warheit,” publication of the Amish Mennonite churches. They were known to their youthful readers as ”Uncle John and Aunt Barbara.” For a number of years Mrs. Miller also did practical nursing in the community.

Survivors include two sons, one daughter, 15 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
