CARL F. LIERE

Carl F. Liere was born at Pekin, Ill. on Jan. 24, 1897; died Sept 6, 1969 in a hospital in Houston, Texas, at the age of 72 years, seven months and 12 days. His parents moved to Texas where he was about nine years old. There they lived on a farm, and he received his schooling.

He was married to Eva Schmidt, on Dec. 8, 1923, and they shared life's joys and sorrows for over45 years. Two sons were born in this union.

He drove a milk truck for dairy farmers for over six years. In 1930 he went into dairy farming and rice production.

He was a member of the Thompson Community Church for many years. He had been in failing health since 1968 and had been under a doctor's care. He suffered from cardiac failure.

He leaves to mourn his wife; two sons, Johnnie and wife Joyce, Carl Jr., and two grandchildren, all of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Deppert of Pekin, Ill., Miss Mettie Liere of Houston, and Mrs. Ella Kellogg of Cypress, Texas; four brothers, Henry of Houston, Willie of Hockley, Texas; Herman of Cypress, Texas, and Walter of Houston.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Waltrip Chapel by Rev. Abe D. Koehn and Rev. William Burcaw.
