MRS. TEENA KLIEWER

Mrs. Tena Kliewer, loving wife of Peter Kliewer of Saskatoon, passed away on October 5 at the City Hospital in Saskatoon. Funeral services were held in the Nutana MB Church on October 8 with Rev. Eugene Gerbrandt officiating, assisted by Rev. H. H. Epp. Rev. Epp spoke on Psalm 116:15 and Ezekiel 33:11. Rev. Gerbrandt based his message on John 14:1 and 2. A group of ladies from the Missionary Prayer Band sang two songs. Interment was in the Hepburn cemetery.

Mrs. Kliewer was born in Hepburn on August 9, 1901, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Strauss. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in June of 1918, was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in Hepburn.

On November 6, 1924, she was united in marriage to Peter Kliewer and together with him moved to Saskatoon where they joined the MB Church on 33rd Street. As far as her health would permit, she took an active part in the Ladies Missionary Prayer Band of the church. She bore testimony to the end to her complete faith and trust in the Lord.

She leaves to mourn her husband; one daughter Viola of Saskatoon; two sons and their wives, Edwin of Prince Albert and Harvey of Saskatoon; four grandchildren; one sister Anna (Mrs. Jake Wiebe) of Saskatoon; four brothers, Fred of Hepburn, John and Frank of Saskatoon, and Albert of Trail, B.C., one aunt, Mrs. Abe Strauss of Vineland, New Jersey, and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by twin daughters, Edna and Elma in 1948 and by five sisters.
