Wife of Kidron, Ohio Church Leader Dies

Kidron, Ohio. — Funeral services for Mrs. Elma Hofstetter, 70, wife of Bishop Reuben Hofstetter, were held May 24 at the Kidron Mennonite Church. She died May 21 at a Dalton rest home after a three-month illness.

Mrs. Hofstetter was the former Elma Amstutz and a native of this community. She was married here to Bishop Hofstetter in 1914 and shared in his many years as pastor and bishop of the Kidron Mennonite Church. He is now retired from the pastorate, but continues to have bishop oversight.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, one daughter, 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Hofstetter of rural Dalton.
