Businessman Died, Abbotsford, B. C.

Altona, Manitoba — Word has been received here from Abbotsford, B C. of the passing of Abram J. Friesen, 77, well known resident of Westminister, B. C and a former Altona businessman. A large congregation attended the funeral services at the Abbotsford Mennonite church, conducted by Rev. A. Loewen, Rev. Epp and Rev. Lawton.

Mr. Friesen was born and raised in Manitoba and lived here until 1927. In that year he and his family went to Paraguay, but returned the following year. He then served successively as manager of the Rhineland Consumers Cooperative and the Altona light plant, moving to British Columbia in 1940, where he was active in building the church and Bible school. He leaves his wife, two daughters and three sons.
