IRWIN DALKE

Irwin Dalke, son of Henry and Carrie (Base) Dalke, was born in Ft. Cobb, Okla. Sept. 24, 1923 and died at Swedish Medical Center, Denver, Colo. Oct 10, 1978. He was 55.

Irwin became a member of the Greenfield Mennonite Church of Carnegie, Okla. in his youth. He was united in marriage to Nora Bell Koehn Dec. 1, 1946. Shortly after their marriage the Dalkes moved to Denver, where Irwin was involved in farming and working as a mechanic for the American Can Company and several other places in the same capacity. Most recently he was employed by Western Grocery Company.

Surviving him are his wife; two sons and their spouses – Michael and Bonnie of Hesston, Kan., Stephen and Tammy of Perry Park, Colo.; two daughters, Diana and Lorna, living at home; three brothers – Herman of Hutchinson, Kan., Norman of Yukon, Okla., and Edward of Hesston, Kan.; three sisters – Ruby (Mrs. Alvin) Unruh of Carnegie, Okla., Ruthie (Mrs. Leo) Nightengale of Carnegie, Okla., and Edith (Mrs. Benny) Unruh of Halstead, Kan.; one granddaughter, Susan Dalke, and his mother. He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services were conducted by Roger Hochstetler Oct. 13, 1978 at the Glennon Heights Mennonite Church of Denver, where he was a member.
