FAMOUS CANADIAN DOCTOR CALLED AWAY IN DEATH

At four o'clock in the morning of May 28, 1934, at Callender, Ontario, Dr. Allan R. Dafoe was awakened by a determined pounding at his door. Dr. Dafoe got up, accompanied the man who had come for his help. it was Oliva Dionne.

Coming to the Dionne home, Dr. Dafoe found everything in confusion in the dim light of a kerosene lamp. Twins had been born, prematurely, with no arrangements for their advent. And to add to the confusion, within a few hours three more babies arrived, — the now world famous Dionne Quintuplets. Dr. Dafoe saved their lives as well as the life of the mother, an achievement through which he too, became famous.

Last week, on June 2, Dr. Dafoe died at a North Bay, On., hospital of heart disease. He was 60 years of age.
