10-Year-Old Boy Killed As Virginia School Bus Overturns

Harrisonburg, Va. — A school bus carrying 30 children veered off the road and turned over one and a half times while traveling up the hollow near the Lucas Hollow Mennonite Church at Stanley, Va.

Ten-year-old Randy Cubbage was crushed under the overturned bus and died almost instantly. Twenty other children and the driver, Rev. William C. Roberson, were rushed to the hospital. Only two children required hospital care, but Rev. Robertson, suffering from shock, was alter transferred to the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

Funeral services for the Cubbage boy were held at the Dovel Hollow Pentecostal Church. His sister Doris is a member of the Lucas Hollow Church.
