Well-Known Physician At Mt. Lake Dies

Mt. Lake, Minn. — Business places here were closed on Friday afternoon, Oct. 13, during the funeral services for Dr. Elmer S. Schutz, 64, well-known Mt. Lake practicing physician for 34 years. The largely attended services were held at the Bethel Mennonite Church, of which he was an active member.

Dr. Schutz suffered a fatal heart attack on Oct. 9 as he was preparing to assist in an operation at the Bethel Hospital, to be perfrmed by his son-in-law, Dr. Dallas Glick, and a nephew, Dr. Dwight Jaeger. Dr. Glick had just arrived here so that his father-in-law might take a much needed vacation.

A native of Pandora, Ohio, Dr. Schutz came here after his internship in Chicago and became associated with Dr. Harvey Basinger in the Basinger Clinic. He was active in civic affairs, and served for a number of years as chairman of the Mt.Lake board of education.
