MARGARET REIMER

Margaret Reimer, youngest daughter of Berhard [sic Bernhard] and Helen Goossen Reimer, was born Oct. 24, 1884 near Beatrice, Neb.

When she was four days old her mother died. She was then taken to the home of her sister and Uncle Abraham and Marie Goossen with whom she lived until they passed away.

She first attended the parochial school and later the public school.

Upon her confession of her faith in Jesus Christ she was baptized by Elder Gerhard Penner on May 19, 1902 and became a member of the First Mennonite Church of Beatrice of which she remained a faithful member.

She was always much interested in the work of the church. For a number of years she taught a children's Sunday school class.

After the death of her sister and uncle she made her home with her brothers and sisters on a farm west of Beatrice. Due to much sickness in the home she always gave sympathetic care to her loved ones during their illness.

In August of 1955 she and her niece, Marie Penner, moved to Beatrice, where she lived until her passing. Her death came unexpectedly on May 19, 1961. She reached the age of 76 years, six months, and 25 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure one sister, Mrs. Wilhermine [sic Wilhelmine] Penner, one sister-in-law, a number of nieces and nephews in whom she took a keen interest and also a large circle of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
