MRS. MARGARET PENNER

It pleased the Lord to take Margaret Penner, age 99, to his eternal glory on May 16. She was born February 18, 1876 in Burwalde, South Russia.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour in 1895. On October 19, 1900 she entered into matrimony with Aron H. Penner. Their marriage was blessed with eight children.

In 1926 they emigrated to Canada, living first at St. Jean, Man. for two years and hen on a farm near Roland for 39 years. In 1937 her husband died. In the 38 years that followed, she often felt her loss, but the Word of God, prayer and joy in the Lord was her strength. She prayed often for her children and their families.

In December, 1967 she moved with her son Aron and daughter-in-law Helen to Winkler. They provided her with the loving and extra care she required, being already over 90. Since Aron's sudden death in 1974 Helen and her mother-in-law were alone in heir home.

Hers was a glorious parting on May 16. After Helen and Margaret had washed, urned and offered her a drink, she opened her eyes and softly said, "Take thou me wholly, 0 Son of God." She closed her eyes and drew her last breath.

She was predeceased by her husband, May 12, 1937, and by four sons: Henry in nfancy, Aron in 1974, Henry in 1971 and George in 1974. She is survived by her daughters: Neta (Mrs. John) Friesen of Winnipeg, Margaret (Mrs. Henry) Loewen of Morden, Man., Helen (Mrs. Isaac) Neufeld of Boissevain, Man. and their husbands; one son Jacob A. Penner of Morden and his wife; daughters-in-law: Helen (Mrs. Aron) Penner of Winkler, Agatha (Mrs. Henry) Penner of Arnaud, Man., Agatha (Mrs. George) Penner of Morden; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. Falk and Rev. H. Regehr from the Steinbach MB Church.
