OSKER LARSEN

Oskar Larsen was born July 19, 1!h2 Broenderslev, Denmark. In 1929 he came Canada with his parents and other membe of the family and settled in the Neepaw Man., area where he later farmed. In October 1942 he married Eleanor Byn Walker, who predeceased him on Septemb 9, 1965. From 1942 to 1946 he served his country the RCAF. Following his discharge h moved to Elm Creek, Man. where he farme until his homegoing. He served on the loc school boards for about 15 years, and wa also active in other community function having served as a member on numerou committees and advisory boards. In summer, 1959 he was baptized upon th confession of his faith and became a memb of the Carman Gospel Light Church, whe he served his Lord in various capacities . H was an avid reader; the Bible and book related to Bible exposition were his favorite During his illness he often lamented th fact that he was unable to read as before an frequently requested Scripture be read fo him. His dauntless faith and courage were a nspiration to his family as well as to th hospital staff. In October, 1966 he married Mabel Friese of Carman, who survives him. Also survivin him are two daughters: Anna of Columbu Ohio and Linda (Mrs. J . W .) Watt o Winnipeg, three brothers and two sisters. On July 17 Oskar was peacefully taken t be "forever with the Lord." The memoria ervice was conducted from the Elm Cree Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Pete Doerksen and Rev. A. Quiring officiating.
