. . . — Mrs. Sarah Alice Shaum, 67, of Hesston died Wednesday morning at the Bethel Deaconess hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Hesston Mennonite church, with Rev. Peter Wiebe officiating. The body will lie in state at the church after 11 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Shaum, the former Mary Alice Shantz, was a native of Elkhart county, Ind. and was married there to Charles Shaum. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Ada of Indianapolis, Esther of Bremen, Ind., and Mrs. Wayne Whittaker of Rocky Ford, Colo; three sisters and two grandchildren. the family suggests that instead of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
