MRS. MAGDALENA SUTTER

Magdalena Biery Sutter was born in Wayne County, Ohio on Jan. 26, 1865, and passed away Jan. 13, 1960 at the age of 94 years, 11 months, 13 days.

She came to Oregon in 1880 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Biery, five sisters and one brother, all of whom preceded her in death. They settled on a ranch in the Waldo Hills near Silverton.

On Jan. 29, 1885 she was married to Joshua Sutter who passed away in November 1940. All her married life she lived in Marion County, Ore. She was baptized in 1884 by Rev. Christian Steiner and joined the present Emmanuel Church in 1914.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elma Childs and Miss Etta Sutter, both of Salem; two sons, A. I. Sutter of Mt. Angel,, Ore. and Leo Sutter of Salem; three grandchildren, Betty Childs Bradshaw of Portland, James Sutter of Dallas and Miss Mayetta Sutter of Salem, and five great-grandchildren.
