text of obituary:

MRS. LYDIA MILLER

Lydia Katherine Schrock, daughter of Jacob G. and Elizabeth Peachy Schrock was born Jan. 9, 1882 near Garden City, Mo. She departed this life Dec. 11, 1959 at the home, aged 77 years, 11 months, and two days. Seventy-four years of her life were spent in the house where she was born.

At an early age she united with the Sycamore Grove Mennonite church in which she maintained faithful membership through life.

Her faith in Christ, her love of family and home was always shared by her children as they grew to adulthood and will serve in later years as a guiding beacon to welcome them home. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives were enriched by her devotion in the home, but we believe our loss is her eternal gain.

Mother is survived by her husband; three sons, Norman J. of Lexington, Mo., J. Emerson of Lowpoint, Ill., and S. Paul of Central Province, India; two daughters, Katherine (Mrs. John McCarthy) of Harrisonville, Mo., and Mary Eleanor of Goshen, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Her parents, a sister (Mrs. Ida Plank), an infant brother and sister, and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

“God in His mercy extended His Hand, to welcome our mother to a better land.”
