Katherine Buhler was born on January 1, 1884 to Abraham and Elizabeth Funk of Mountain Lake, Minn. She grew up in that community and often recalled the loneliness of her youth because her mother died when she was 10 years old.

After three years of married life they immigrated to Canada. On August 26, 1923 she was baptized by Rev. David Dyck and was accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church of Waldheim.

On September 23, 1936 her husband died due to a brain hemmorhage. Having lived a lonely wife as a widow for two years she married Rev. John Buhler of Dalmeny on October 5, 1938. She lived happily with him until he passed away February 5, 1947.

She died October 23, 1974, at the age of 90. She is survived by her children: John and Martha Schmidt, Saskatoon, Pete and Anna Regehr, Port Coquitlam, B.C., Abe and Tina Buhler, Dalmeny, John Buhler, Jake and Susie Suderman, Clearbrook, B.C., Dave and Agatha Willems, Henry and Sarah Baerg, Saskatoon, Pete and Anne Quiring, Jake and Linda Penner, Sam and Elsie Buhler, Ed and Bertha Buhr of Dalmeny, Henry and Louise Buhler, Onida, South Dakota.
