AGNES WIEBE

Funeral services were held in the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church on April 11, for Miss Agnes Wiebe, 68, who passed away April 2, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while on a tour to Mexico. Officiating at the funeral were Rev. J. Falk of the Portage Ave. MB Church, Winnipeg (of which she was a member), and the Rev. H. Lenzmann of Winkler. Interment was in the Winkler cemetery.

Miss Wiebe was born in Laird, Sask., on April 3, 1898. Together with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Wiebe, she lived for a short time in Texas, but returned to Canada to live most of her life in Manitoba. She taught school in Texas, Altona, Steinbach, Rosenfeld, Horndean, Lowe Farm, and New Bothwell. The last few years she lived in retirement at 99 Roslyn Road, Winnipeg.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. A. P. Toews, (Ann), Missouri, Mrs. L. P. Shrum (Mary), Texas, and Mrs. F. Vogt (Katherine) of California; two brothers, Henry of Inglewood, California and Abe of Wichita, Kansas. She was predeceased by her mother, father, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Worms, Winkler, and five brothers, George, Jacob, John, Frank and Isaac.
