RETIRED FARMER AND BUSINESS MAN OF WOODBURN, OREGON DIES

Woodburn, Ore. — Dan Widmer, 74, retired farmer and business man, died at the Silverton hospital May 2 following a stroke suffered at his home on April 27.

Born at Wayland, Iowa on Feb. 17, 1884, he came to Albany, Ore. as a boy with his family. He was a member of the Zion Mennonite Church near Hubbard, where in 1908 he was married to Elfie M. Yoder. She died in August 1957.

Mr. Widmer farmed at Albany, Lebanon and later Sheridan, where he also operated the Widmer Seed House for many years. In 1952 he attended the Mennonite World Conference in Switzerland at which time he also visited relatives there and in Southern France.
