— Funeral services for Herman E. Ewert, 69, of the Gnadenberg community, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Gnadenberg church by Rev. H. E. Miller assisted by Rev. J. J. Voth and Rev. H. B. Schmidt. Mr. Ewert died at Bethel Deaconess hospital early Sunday morning. He was born in Butler county and had lived on the same farm since 1911. Surviving him are his wife, the former Margaret Schmidt, two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Pearson of Newton and Mrs. Esther Smith of Kansas City, Kans.; two brothers, Gus of Whitewater and Henry of California, and two half sisters, Mrs. Mary Unruh of Newton and Mrs. Anna Harms of Whitewater.
