H. H. WEDEL

Henry Harry Wedel was born in Orlof, Russia in 1877, the son of Henry and Catharine Wedel, and the youngest of 11 children. He was brought to this country by his parents at the age of six months, and spent the early years of his life on a farm near Goessel, Kansas.

He was baptized at the Alexanderwohl church near Goessel by Rev. Jacob Buller on May 24, 1896.

In 1901 he moved to Oklahoma and settled in the town of Harrison, now known as Gotebo. In 1904 he was joined in marriage to Marie M. Foth.

On September 3, 1952, after a protracted period of illness, he went Home to be with the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Marie M. Wedel, two sons, Erwin and Milton and their families, a brother John, five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his departure, yet rejoice that he is safely Home.

Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at Gotebo, Rev. Gerhard Peters and Rev. Henry Hege officiating. A women’s quartet from the Herold church and a men’s quartet from the M. B. church at Corn sang at the services.—Mrs. H. H. Wedel and Family.
