SIMON HOFSTETTER

Funeral services for Simon Hofstetter of Versailles, Mo., who died July 31, 1957, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 19 days, were held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3, at the Bethel Mennonite church, northwest of Versailles, Burial was in the church cemetery. the officiating minister was Rev. Geo. Igo, assisted by Rev. Paul Hilty.

Simon M. Hofstetter was born in Wayne County, Ohio, February 12, a son of John E. and Katherina Gilliom Hofstetter, who lived in Hickory county, Missouri, from 1869 to 1894, where Simon grew to manhood.

On December 5, 1901, he was married to Rose Anna Loganbill. They established their home on the Loganbill farm, near Bethel church, which he had joined in early youth.

With the exception of one twin son, who died in infancy, the surviving children are: Roy of Tipton, Sylvan of Muncie, Indiana, Anna Ruth Nagel of Berne, Indiana, Lester of Tipton, Milo of Irvington, Calif., Waldo, who lives on the home farm, and Naomi Riffle of Kansas City.

He was a brother of C. G. Hofstetter of Versailles.
