Manitoba Youth Killed, Companions Injured

TWO-CAR COLLISION CLAIMS LIFE OF 17-YEAR-OLD FRANK LOEWEN

Winkler, Man., April 23. — One person is dead and four are in the hospital as a result of a two-car collision at the Winkler Corner, three miles west of here, Monday afternoon at about 3:00 o'clock.

Dead is Frank Loewen, 17, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Loewen of Winkler. Injured are Harry Pauls, 18, son of Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Pauls, and David Banman, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Banman, local jeweller.

The occupants of the other car, two Winnipeg ladies, are confined to District hospital of Morden. Frank Loewen passed away in the Morden Hospital at 5:30 p.m. yesterday.

Reports from the Winkler Hospital indicate that David Banman suffered only slight injuries but Harry Pauls has a broker right arm and facial abrasions.

Funeral services for Frank Loewen will be held from the Rudnerwide Church here in Winkler on Thursday afternoon.
