Fatally Injured When Two Cars Collide

CRASH NEAR MOUNDRIDGE CLAIMS LIFE OF HELEN KAUFMAN, 36

Funeral services were conducted at the Eden Mennonite Church near Moundridge on Monday afternoon for Helen Kaufman, 36, who was fatally injured in a two-car collision east of Moundridge Friday evening, Feb. 8. Rev. Peter J. Dyck, the pastor, officiated.

Miss Kaufman, who resided in Moundridge with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob S. Kaufman, was a passenger in a car driven by Verne Graber, 39. The Graber car and one driven by Robert Koehn, 18, of Burns collided at an intersection.

Mr. Graber suffered fractures and other injuries and is confined to the hospital. The Koehn youth and five other Burns young people riding with him were treated for cuts and bruises and released.

In addition to her parents, Miss Kaufman is survived by 11 brothers and sisters. Among them are Peter R. Kauffman [sic Kaufman] of the Bethel College faculty, North Newton, and Marilyn Kaufman, also of North Newton.
