ABRAHAM FUNK

Abraham Funk was born on November 2, 1912 to Mr. and Mrs. Abram H. Funk in Russia. The family came to Canada in 1926 and settled at Horndean, Manitoba. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 15. He was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church at Grossweide. In 1937 he married Mary Heinrichs of Horndean. He was called suddenly from this life on July 4 at Brandon. The Lord had been a source of comfort and strength to him, especially during the last weeks of his life. Surviving are his wife, Mary; three sons, Abe and wife Marion, Vernon and Ronald; four daughters, Esther, Ruth and Bill Eisler, and Betty Mae, all of Brandon, and Merrily and Lloyd LeBlanc of Deloraine, Man.; five grandchildren; a brother, Isaak, of Winkler; and two sisters, (Mrs.) Nettie Rempel of Winnipeg, and (Mrs.) Justina Neufeld of Horndean.

Funeral services were held July 7 at the Brandon Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. Henry Willms in charge.
