ANNE HEIDEBRECHT

Anne Heidebrecht was born in 1931 to Mr. and Mrs. John Thiessen of Arnaud, Man. She accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour at the age of 13 and was baptized two years later in the Arnaud MB Church.

Her father died in 1945 and in 1951 the family moved to St. Catharines, Ont. Here Anne found many opportunities to serve the Lord in Sunday School, youth work, singing and accompanying.

In 1955 she married David Heidebrecht. For 11 years she continued to serve the Lord in her church. Then her active life was brought to a stop by Hodgkin's disease. After nearly eight years of illness, she died on July 20 in the Wellesley Hospital in Toronto at the age of 42. Her thoughts, entitled "God's Ways Are Best," were written three weeks before her death and printed in the June 29 issue of the Herald.

She leaves to mourn her husband, David; 3 children ages 9 to 15; her mother with her husband, John Paetkau; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services were held at the Scott St. Church in St. Catharines with Rev. Henry Penner officiating.
