Young Couple Dies Of Gas Poisoning

ASPHYXIATED IN TOURIST CABIN EN ROUTE HOME TO SOUTHERN MANITOBA

Altona, Manitoba. — Relatives in southern Manitoba received word of the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. John Hildebrand who were asphyxiated while staying in a tourist cabin at Duluth, Minn. the night of Nov. 5. The message was received by phone from a Duluth doctor.

The young couple had been married on June 27 of this year and were enroute to their home communities near here after spending the summer in Ontario, where they had employment in a cannery.

Mr. Hildebrand was the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Hildebrand of the Blumenthal District, and his wife, Betty, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abram A. Dueck of Schoenthal District.

— The deaths of Mr. and Mrs. John Hildebrand, Haldestadt, Man., reported earlier, is now believed due to carbon monoxide from the exhaust system of their car. the young couple was found dead in a tourist cabin at Floodwood, Minn., and at first the tragedy was attributed to a heater in their cabin.
